Indoor swimming pool and spa rooms are very unique in their demands. When pool water is
heated to swimming temperatures, large amounts of moisture are released into the room.
This moisture, if left uncontrolled, will permeate every inch of the pool and any
adjoining structures. Uncontrolled pool-room moisture heavily laden with chlorine or
bromine disinfectants quickly attack everything it comes in contact with. The result is
mold and mildew formation, blistering paint and rust forming on metal objects such as
lighting fixtures, conduit, deck furniture, door knobs, and hinges. Building insulation
absorbs this moisture and is rendered ineffective, loosing most of its insulating ability.
Construction lumber absorbs this moisture causing warping, rotting, and decay. In reality,
out of control pool-room moisture quickly takes a highly prized asset such as an indoor
pool room and turns it into a nightmare.
DCA Pool Room Dehumidifiers are specifically engineered to control the damaging effects of pool-room humidity. During the dehumidification process, excessive moisture is removed from the pool room. During this process, warm, dry air is returned back to the pool room. By controlling the relative humidity and the room temperature, moisture is not allowed to condense anywhere in the pool room. When cool, dry air is needed to control the room temperature, an optional remote condenser is used. The dehumidification process is entirely automatic and is controlled by a wall mounted humidistat and thermostat.
