Flat Plate Heat
Exchangers provide a solution primarily for heat recovery in cold climates. They are flat
plate devices that transfer sensible heat from exhaust air to ventilation air through
aluminum or a similar non-permeable material. 
Heat Wheels
provide a solution for hot climates where there is a need to recover the energy expended
in air conditioning. Using a desiccant (water absorbing) coating on a rotating metal
wheel, heat and moisture are absorbed from the incoming hot humid outdoor air and
transferred to the exhaust airstream. This can reduce the ventilation air-conditioning
load by up to 90%.
